A beautiful place with stunning surroundings! We wanted to visit the Stanley Ghyll Force waterfall with our 4-year-old, and it was just a 15-minute drive from the property followed by a gentle 45m walk to the viewing platform after parking the car. There's also a local pub about 10-15 minutes away by car. I highly recommend this spacious 2-bedroom apartment to anyone looking to visit the area. I'll definitely be booking again, as two days didn’t feel like enough time to explore everything! We loved our stay! The place was SO much bigger than we were expecting. 4 adults and 2 large dogs and we had loads of space! The place was very peaceful and remote. Maybe some wouldn’t like the location as it is down a narrow windy road but we’re use to the roads in the area and was perfect for what we had planned. The price for a bank holiday weekend was amazing also. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area! My only downside was no grass area for dogs to toilet but that’s just because my dogs are picky, no fault of the Airbnb at all. — Harley Clements, 01 Aug 2024

We really couldn't fault this place. The apartment was pristine and I think has been fitted out recently as the carpets and kitchen equipment looked very new. Some great touches such as 2 of the chairs in the spaceous sitting room were placed looking out of the window which overlooks the bird table which had many, many visitors including the great spotted woodpecker. Another nice touch was the notice telling you how to get further dishwasher tablets, loo rolls etc. In my experience this is fairly rare. The caretaker for the apartment lives below and he was friendly and very helpful. For us the area was perfect as we know and love this area. The stream in easy walking distance is perfect for paddling , swimming and kayaking. Coniston Water is also great for water activities. Broughton in Furness doesn't have many shops but the grocers, butchers and bakers and yes there is a candlestick makers are all excellent. Lovely spacious apartment situated in a quiet corner of the Lake District. plenty of great walks nearby. Steven was very helpful in providing lots of useful information before our arrival and checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Gorgeous peaceful location, wonderful views and great walks from the doorstep. Extremely clean; folks on site were friendly and helpful. Kitchen and bathroom were sparkling and new and the beds very comfortable. Well equipped with towels, kitchen stuff and all the things you'd need to self cater. The reason for 4 not 5 stars is the furniture and state of repair in some places. The furniture was old, mis-matched, and the whole look was incoherent and slightly disturbing. In the spacious living room, as well as the aged-relative furniture there was paper coming unstuck from the walls and ceiling in various places; by the beds there were deeply strange 1950s looking portable lights; and there were an awful lot of plastic flowers. A lack of love. I'd like to add that I've mentioned all this to Steve and he has a snagging list for end of season. With a bit more care this could fulfil its great potential and really be a 5 star "lovely home". — Lucy Crispin, 01 Jul 2024
